About our New Web Theme

In early 2025, we launched a brand new web menu theme. This theme is the default for new customers, and is opt-in for existing customers.

What's new?

Here are the major new features in our 2025 web theme.

Multi-menu support

Our new web theme better supports multiple menus. If you've created multiple menus on Taplist.io, you'll see a menu switcher at the top of your web menu page.

Automatic refresh

If a customer has your menu open while you update your menu, the customer will see a non-intrusive alert that says "An update is available, tap to refresh."

Cleaner, mobile-friendly layout

The new theme uses a cleaner layout that is designed for maximum readability on mobile and desktop.

Section descriptions

You can now add public descriptions to your menu sections in the Taplist.io dashboard. The new web theme is the first of our themes to show them.

Dark mode support

The new theme supports dark mode, and will remember the setting your customers choose.

How do I use the new web theme?

For new customers — those joining us in 2025 — the new web theme is the default.

For customers still using our legacy web themes, you'll see an alert at the top of your web settings page. You can press a button to switch to the new theme, and you'll have the option to switch back if you're not happy for some reason.

Important: When you switch to the new theme, most of your settings will be preserved (such as font types, product options, and so forth.) However in the new theme some options are no longer available, and if you switch back to a legacy theme, you may need to re-set those options.
