What are tags and how do they work?
When editing a product on your Taplist.io menu, you'll see a field called "Tags". Here's how they work.
What do tags do?
Tags allow you to add short, descriptive labels to any beverage or product on your menu. These labels will be shown anywhere your menu is shown: on TV, your web page, and in printed form.
Tags are an optional feature. You can use them to highlight special aspects of a product. Here are some example tags our customers have used:
- "Seasonal" — to highlight beverages that are only available occasionally.
- "Award-winner" — to highlight a very special product.
- "To-go" — to show that a product is available to go.
We recommend keeping tag names short, and limiting each product to only a few tags, as they do take up precious space on your menu.
How do I create a tag?
You'll see the tag editor when any product's details. Just start typing to search existing tags, or to create a new tag!
Can I use emojis for tags?
Yes! We even have special support for emojis.
First, create the tag with a text name, since this will help you when you're adding a tag. For example, "Award-winner".
Then, visit the Tags section of your database, find the tag, and place the emoji in the "Display as" field. Press save. Any emoji or text you add here will be used, instead of the tag's name, when showing the tag.
