Import from Brewfather

Brewfather is a popular homebrewing recipe, batch manager, and toolset. If you have a Brewfather account, you can connect it to your Taplist.io account.

What it does

By connecting your Brewfather account, Taplist.io will:

Create a new Beverage in your Beverage DB for every Recipe in your Brewfather account.
Create an On Deck Keg for any Batch you currently have active in your Brewfather account.

Prerequisites

To use this integration, you will need:

A Brewfather account with access to the API Key feature. At the time of writing, API access is a paid feature of Brewfather.

Linking your account

When you're ready to link your Brewfather account, follow these steps.

Step 1: Get your User ID and API Key from Brewfather

Find the section API and click Generate API Key.

In the dialog that pops up, click Generate Key. You will be prompted to set the key's permissions. Click Read Recipes and Read Batches as shown below.

Once the key is generated, you will see two values: User ID and API Key. Copy and save both values.

Step 2: Add API Key to Taplist.io

Visit the Taplist.io Integrations Page and scroll down to the Brewfather section. Click Sync with Brewfather.

Paste your User ID and API Key into the boxes when prompted, click Save Credentials, then Continue. Follow the instructions to proceed with data synchronization.

Next Steps

That's it! Your recipes will be imported as Beverages in the Beverage DB, and your active batches will be created as On Deck kegs.

Note: Currently Brewfather sync is not automatic. You will need to visit the Integrations Page and click Sync whenever you want to update data from Brewfather. Automatic synchronization is coming soon.
