Connect your Plaato Keg Scales to Taplist.io

As of Fall 2025, Taplist.io has brand new support for Plaato Keg using our custom built Plaato server. Here are some of its features:

  1. No app required: Configure and completely manage your Plaato Keg devices without needing a mobile app.
  2. Fast updates: Data from your Plaato Keg streams to Taplist.io in near realtime.
  3. TV menus and graphics: See your keg levels illustrated on HD TV menus with our built-in illustrations.

Here's how to get started.

Instructions

IMPORTANT: Plaato Cloud—Plaato's official service for Plaato Keg—was shut down on November 1 2025. If you previously received an auth token from Plaato, it is no longer necessary since these auth tokens have been replaced. You will need to re-create your Plaato Keg integration(s) by following the steps below.

Step 0: Prerequisites

You will need:

  • One or more Plaato Keg devices.
  • A paid Taplist.io subscription (e.g. Hobby/Homebrewer plan)

Step 1: Create a new Plaato Keg integration in Taplist.io

First, prepare Taplist.io to receive data from your Plaato Keg.

  1. Visit the Taplist.io integrations dashboard for Plaato Keg.
  2. Create a new Plaato Keg integration for your desired tap.
  3. Once your integration has been saved, take note of your new auth token.

Step 2: Re-configure your Plaato Keg device

Your Plaato Keg device needs to be reconfigured to send data directly to Taplist.io.

  1. With the device powered off, remove the magnetic "reset" key and old it to the "reset" slot on the bottom of the Plaato Keg device.
  2. Connect power to Plaato Keg. You should see the lights flash.
  3. Connected to the Plaato Keg's wifi network. You should see a new network named PLAATO-<something>    .
  4. Visit the device's configuration page at: http://192.168.4.1/
  5. Configure the device:
    1. WiFi SSID: Enter your Wifi network's name (case sensitive!)
    2. Password: Enter your Wifi network's password.
    3. Auth token: Paste the value Taplist.io shows in the dashboard.
    4. Host: plaato.taplist.io
    5. Port: 8442
  6. Double-check all values, making sure you don't have any extra spaces.
  7. Press "Apply"!

Step 3: Verify connection

Once the Plaato Keg reboots, it should join your wifi network and start streaming data to us.

The Plaato Keg device should show three solid LED lights. This means wifi is connected and data is streaming.
